Express Reply Paid Postal Service

We have organised with Australia Post an Express Reply PaidPost service which should make getting samples to us much easier and reliable.

Instructions to use the Reply Paid Express service are as follows:

  • Pack up your samples as you would normally; address the package to our Busselton Laboratory as below. Please direct samples to the appropriate lab depending on the analysis you need. If in doubt please call 08 97554828.

  • Take the package to your local Post Office or Agency. Tell them it is a Express Reply Paid Post package (not the pre-paid satchels). They will put express post tape on your package and add a barcode sticker for traceability as below. Keep the detachable tracking number label that is peeled off the sticker in case the package goes missing and needs to be traced.

  • You should then be asked to Sign the Dangerous Goods Declaration

otherwise your parcel will go as routine mail & may take up to 10 days until we receive.

  • Once handed over the parcel and postage will be invoiced to Winechek.
  • Please call or send us an email to let us know that it is on the way so we can quickly identify any delivery issues. We have been informed that the package should be delivered within 1-2 days depending on where you are.  For a printable version see the download below.

Sample label    We can supply pre-printed labels or you can click on the image and download a MS Word file and print your own copies on AVERY L7164 labels.

   Fill in your details, the sample details, tick the boxes for the tests you need, write in the OTHER section any tests that aren't on the label. Stick the label on the sample container and organise despatch to us either by utilizing our Pickup service or Express Reply Paid Post service.

Pickup Service

As well as our Laboratory in Vasse, SWAT in Cowaramup is a year round drop off point for samples. Please have samples at SWAT by midday to ensure collection that day.

We also provide a sample pickup service all year round to the Margaret River Wine District with some seasonal changes.

CMC and Mannoprotein testing

CMC & Mannoprotein cold stability testing via the Stabilab

We are the only laboratory in Australia offering a fast reliable assessment of the cold stability of wine for CMC (Celstab, Vinostab), Mannoprotein (Mannostab) and electrodialysis use via the Stabilab. The methods are suitable for the assessment of any additive or winery process to achieve cold stability and is only available at our Busselton laboratory.

We have two types of analysis;

DIT% test which determines how unstable a wine is and how much treatment a wine might require to achieve stability.

ISTC50 test which confirms whether a wine is stable after treatment.

Both tests require a minimum sample volume of 200mL each of near to bottle ready wine and the results are available a day after receipt.

NATA Accredited

You can be assured of the quality of our laboratory services because we are regularly audited by National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) and we adhere to a quality management system.

From July to December 2004 the directors of Winechek, Rodney & Rebecca Marsh constructed a laboratory and furbished it with all the equipment needed to produce a quality laboratory service to the wine industry.

In January 2005, in time for the 2005 vintage, Winechek was officially opened. From inception we had a goal of being NATA accredited by the 2006 vintage. After our initial assessment on 20th February 2006 we finally achieved accreditation to the International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 on the 1st May 2006.
